Governance & Club Management
How InCAS is run
Inverkeithing Competitive Amateur Swimmers (InCAS) is a volunteer-run swimming club, supported by a committee, qualified coaches, and parent volunteers. The club operates with clear structures in place to ensure swimmer welfare, fair decision-making, and responsible day-to-day management.
The coaching team is responsible for training delivery, swimmer development, and progression decisions. The committee oversees governance, safeguarding, finance, administration, and long-term planning, ensuring the club operates safely and in line with national guidance.
InCAS is affiliated to Scottish Swimming and complies with their governance, safeguarding, and coaching requirements. This includes PVG membership, coach qualifications, and safeguarding training where required.

Committee Structure
The club is managed by a volunteer committee, with roles typically including:
-
President
-
Vice-President
-
Secretary
-
Treasurer
-
Welfare Officer
-
Membership Secretary
Committee roles are held by volunteers and are reviewed bi -annually. All committee members are expected to act in the best interests of the swimmers and the wider club community.
Coaching & Decision-Making
-
Coaching decisions (training, squad placement, progression) sit with the coaching team
-
Decisions are based on swimmer readiness, wellbeing, and long-term development
-
Committee members do not direct coaching content or selection decisions
This separation ensures clarity, consistency, and fairness for swimmers and families.

Safeguarding & Welfare
The wellbeing of children and young people is the club’s highest priority. InCAS has clear safeguarding policies and procedures in place and a designated Welfare Officer who acts as the first point of contact for any concerns.
