DASC & InCAS
Collaboration allows us to offer broader opportunities while keeping InCAS at the heart of every swimmer’s journey.
Collaboration
InCAS works in collaboration with Dunfermline Amateur Swimming Club (DASC) to support swimmer development at the upper end of the pathway. Both clubs share similar values — community, inclusion, enjoyment, and competitive progression — and the collaboration has been in place for several seasons.
The partnership allows swimmers to access broader training opportunities, train alongside a wider peer group, and experience healthy competition in a supportive environment. By pooling coaching expertise, lane time, and volunteer resources, the collaboration helps ensure that swimmers who are ready for increased challenge can continue to develop without leaving their home club.
Importantly, swimmers remain members of InCAS, with their identity, coaching support, and welfare rooted in the club. The collaboration exists to strengthen pathways, not replace them — giving swimmers more options as they grow, progress, and define their own relationship with the sport.
The collaboration exists to expand opportunity, while keeping swimmer wellbeing, choice, and club identity at the centre.

Collaboration – Frequently Asked Questions
Do swimmers have to join the other club as part of the collaboration?
No. Swimmers remain members of InCAS at all times. The collaboration exists to support development and provide additional training opportunities where appropriate — not to move swimmers away from their home club.
Which swimmers is the collaboration for?
The collaboration is aimed at swimmers in the upper squads who are ready for increased training load, challenge, or competitive exposure. It is not required or expected for all swimmers.
Does this affect squad structure within InCAS?
No. InCAS continues to run its own squads, coaching structure, and pathway. The collaboration sits alongside this, providing additional options rather than replacing anything already in place.
Who decides if a swimmer takes part?
Decisions are made through discussion between coaches, swimmers, and parents, based on readiness, wellbeing, and individual development — not automatically or by age alone.
Will my child still be coached by InCAS coaches?
Yes. InCAS coaches remain involved in swimmer development and welfare. The collaboration allows coaches from both clubs to share expertise and support progression in a joined-up way.
Does this mean more competitions or higher pressure?
Not necessarily. Participation is guided by the swimmer’s goals, confidence, and enjoyment. Progression is supported at a pace that suits the individual.
Why does InCAS collaborate instead of running everything alone?
Collaboration allows clubs to share resources, coaching knowledge, and training environments — helping swimmers access broader opportunities while keeping the community and identity of InCAS intact.
Who can I speak to if I have questions or concerns?
Parents and swimmers are encouraged to speak directly with their InCAS coach or contact the club through the usual channels if they’d like more information or reassurance.
